ESRI Canada and Environics Analytics today jointly announced the availability of ESRI Business Analyst Desktop 10 (Canadian Edition), the most complete geographic business analysis solution that combines the world’s leading geographic information system (GIS) technology from ESRI with extensive geodemographic data from Environics Analytics. This latest version delivers dramatic performance improvements, including demographic calculations and reports that are now up to 60 times faster than in the previous release. It also includes expanded data, with a choice of four new Canadian data bundles tailored to the amount and type of data required. The system delivers enhanced functionality, a customizable, friendlier user interface and more online resources that enable users to more efficiently research their markets, analyze customers and evaluate sites.

PRIZMC2 classifies Canada’s neighbourhoods into 66 segments based on the most important drivers of consumer behaviour: demographics, lifestyles and values. It also provides valuable insights on what consumers are buying, doing and thinking, which helps analysts identify their most profitable customer segments and markets.

This new release provides enhanced mapping, analysis and reporting capabilities to support business processes such as market research and planning, customer profiling, site analysis, target marketing and designing and optimizing sales territories. In addition to census, demographics and segmentation data provided by Environics Analytics, Business Analyst Desktop 10 also includes nationwide business listings data from Infogroup and comprehensive basemaps from Tele Atlas. Users can also access and incorporate maps available through ArcGIS Online.

Licensing and Availability

The solution is offered in two editions: ESRI Business Analyst Desktop 10 (Canadian Edition), available now, contains greater GIS functionality than in the previous release and a choice of three expanded, prepackaged regional or Canada-wide datasets; and the soon-to-be-released ESRI Business Analyst 10 (Canadian Edition) Premium, which contains all functionality in the standard edition, plus additional tools for customer profiling and a premium data bundle with PRIZMC2 segmentation data, aggregated to six-digit Canadian postal codes.
