Baby boomers are the fastest-growing demographic in the United States, and households aged 55-plus control more than 70 percent of total net wealth. In 20 years, the population aged 55 and over will account for almost one-third of the U.S. population. Unlike millennials, who are often burdened by student debt and the costs of supporting growing families, boomers have expendable income for in-store and online purchases.
