Chief Compliance and Risk Officer
James Smith serves as the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer at Environics Analytics, where he leads the organization’s efforts across compliance, enterprise risk management, security, audit readiness, privacy by design, and data governance. With over 30 years of executive experience, James brings a strategic blend of regulatory expertise, business insight, and a deep understanding of technology, privacy and analytics to support sound corporate decision-making and risk mitigation.
Prior to joining Environics Analytics, James was the Vice President of Data Strategy and Data Governance at The Marketing Store Worldwide, where he led global data initiatives and governance frameworks across multiple markets. His cross-industry experience spans financial services, marketing, retail, loyalty, government, and automotive sectors.
James holds several professional certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Canadian Institute of Access and Privacy Professionals (CIAPP), and Master Access and Privacy Professional (MAPP).
