  • Insights on Canadians' Financial Inheritance by Neighbourhood

As Canada’s aging population and their net worth are projected to grow significantly over the next 10 years, the largest intergenerational transfer of wealth is expected to take place by means of inheritance. To-date nearly one-third of Canadian families have received some form of financial inheritance accounting for a total market of $576 billion according to Statistics Canada’s recent Survey of Financial Security. Environics Analytics has launched its newest financial product, WealthTransfer, to help marketers and financial institutions alike understand how to seize upon this significant opportunity.

With WealthTransfer, you can identify at a postal code-level, areas with the highest likelihood of households receiving inheritances within a given year as well as quantify the total potential inheritance amount. Inheritance scores and indices have also been developed so users can easily create customer or postal code rankings and models.

Together with our existing WealthCare product, which provides an overall indicator of financial wellness by age to help organizations identify the challenges and opportunities their customers are likely to experience, you can gain a better understanding of your target market and access incremental opportunities.

Learn how you can capitalize on this financial trend and gain a deeper understanding of your potential consumers’ financial position by integrating WealthTransfer into your consumer insights practices.

  • CPG: Business Planning in the Uncharted Waters of Economic Recovery

    A Canadian Grocer presentation

Perry Hassen SVP and practice lead with Environics Analytics explains how retailers and manufacturers can use different data sets to plan sales and marketing activities for the balance of the year.

You have been asked to come up with a revised business plan for the remainder of the year due to the uncertainly associated with COVID-19. You are not alone.

Most CPG manufacturers and retailers are facing this very challenge. Following the unexpected surge in demand for groceries and household goods back in March and now moving into the period of economic recovery, we must now come up with our best estimates of how this will impact sales and marketing activities in the coming months. However, there are valuable data points we can use as markers to triangulate where and when things will start to get back to normal and in other cases settle into a new normal. In this session, we will explore the use of leveraging demographic, financial and privacy-friendly mobile movement data as important inputs to category and brand business planning, field sales prioritization and retail network planning.

  • Moving Forward with Recovery Planning and MobileScapes

COVID-19 has disrupted virtually every aspect of the world’s social and economic fabric, including Canada’s. But as we edge toward the down-side of the curve, organizations of every kind have to plan for economic recovery. How do marketers and other decision-makers move forward in these uncharted waters? We believe the answer is threefold:

    1. First, developing an understanding of consumers’ movement away from their homes – who are they, where they are going, for how long and how this is changing week-to-week (and importantly, how this compares relative to pre-pandemic patterns)
    2. Second, differentiating these consumers and citizens based on their demographics, motivations and attitudes
    3. Third, identifying the neighbourhoods where these varying populations live in order to effectively reach and engage them

Successfully accomplishing the steps above means leveraging new and existing data sources (including mobile movement data), incorporating innovative technologies and applying analytical and industry sector expertise – all within a privacy-compliant framework.

Learn more about the launch of new MobileScapes and other products that can help businesses, not-for-profits and government agencies on the road to recovery.
