Maclean's used Environics Analytics data to understand the characteristics of 415 communities across Canada and compared them using pre-defined categories thought to be most important to the average Canadian. In this article, Maclean's summarizes the methodology used to create the "Best Communities in Canada" ranking report and explains how categories were adapted in 2021 to reflect changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
