FoodSpend offers valuable insights on what Canadian households are buying from grocery stores and restaurants. This database provides current estimates of annual expenditures for approximately 300 variables of food-related purchases and is produced using data from DemoStats, PRIZM and food expenditures from Statistics Canada’s Survey of Household Spending. It is also aligned to control totals from the Canadian System of National Accounts and Statistics Canada. Users can analyze potential expenditures by both average dollars per household and total dollars spent for any geographic level.
